Update, Lecture in Southern California: Fashion Victims--Dress at the Court of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette
An entertaining slide lecture by historian Kimberly Chrisman-Campbell will look at the era of Marie-Antoinette in the late 1700's France. Her lecture offers great insights and details into this explosive time period.
This takes place on May 7, 2015 at the Huntington Library in San Marino. You will find more information on this lecture at the Library's website HERE.
Last fall I attended this same lecture. That blog post provides more details and links to related websites that might interest you. I first heard this lecture at the Bower's Museum in Santa Ana, Ca along with blogger Lynn Malley (Americanagefashion.com). So it I can recommend the lecture to anyone interested in fashion, costume or France as a fun and informative lecture.
The slide shown here was taken by me at Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), from the exhibition: Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail: 1700 - 1915
